Tina is a blues fanatic, frequenting many of the legendary Chicago clubs, including the Kingston Mines, The Checkerboard, Rosa's, Buddy Guy's Legends, Blue Chicago, Famous Dave's and Blues, Etc, and Wise Fools Pub (these last three are sadly deceased) . But her favorite haunt is a neighborhood club called B.L.U.E.S., which is suspiciously similar to the Lonesome Blues Pub which she writes so often about. She can be found loitering near the back of the bar there, several nights a week.
Tina was born in Iowa City, Iowa, and raised along the banks of the Mississippi River in Ft. Madison, IA. She has a degree in Mass Communication from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She moved to Chicago in 1989, where she lives with her husband of 15 years, Barry; her guinea pigs; and her Japanese fighting fish, Not Dead Yet. Their condo is filled with gargoyles, teddy bears and herb plants, in approximately equal numbers. Say hello to author Tina Jens.
